This is the first of the Tarzan books and tells the circumstances about his birth, childhood, learning to read, trials and finally how he becomes Lord of the Apes. It also tells how he meets Jane, falls in love with her and loses her, then starts out on his journey to find her and win her back, only to lose her once again.
Do not confuse this book with any of the movies made about Tarzan. This is the TRUE story about Lord Greystoke and is a great read.
