A Delightful Portrait
By Roberta on April 9, 2011

This book was a delightful portrait of the proper and old fashioned Lady Ludlow, the people in her circle of acquaintances, and the attitudes and social ideas of the mid-1700's (I think). Through a series of stories told by one of Lady Ludlow's distant relatives who lived with her when her father died, the reader learns of the town's social conflicts, the reasons behind them, and the very surprising ultimate acceptance of them by Lady Ludlow.
