Anne of Green Gables is my personal favorite. I am only 9 years old but Anne is like my true spirit living inside of me. If I could only read one book in my whole life ( a tragedy, I know) Anne (spelled with an e) of Green Gables would be my pick without a second thought. This book is a must read and I strongly advise reading it.
Love this book
I read Anne of Green Gables three years ago, and fell in love with it at first sight. And now I reread the chapters every week, that is the best time of whole week.
a great story for all ages.
I just love this heart warming story. In grade school we did a play of Anne of Green Gables and it got a standing ovation. The classic storyline in an olden day setting and humor appeals to all age groups. It is impossible not to fall in love with Anne and the other characters. I grew up with the movies but have not read the book until now. The older grammer is hard to understand at first but I got used to it. I love the movies but reading it also helped me get into the story even more.
What a wonderful series of books these are; for one of any age. I happened upon them when I was older and had seen the mini-series on PBS. I am so glad or I would have never thought to read the books as an adult. They touched me and made me feel like I was a part of the story. Lucy was a gifted story teller and writer. I would recommend these books to anyone who can read or likes to be read to, they are just wonderful. I can not say enough about them. I give them a 10!

I have done 3 different independent study units on this novel and it is by far the greatest experience I have ever had. I have gone beneath the surface, and have found many interesting things that Montgomery and Anne have in common. This book is full of language, and beautiful details that paint a portrait of a little redheaded girl with her carpet bag sitting at the train station in my heart.

This book rocks! It is a must read, and I could not put it down for a minute. Of course, it helps if you read the books in order...

Full of humor, love, friendship and tragedy, Anne of Green Gables touches the heart and mind. You will laugh, cry and feel a part of this excellent story.
Anne of Green Gables is the first in a series by the talented author, L. M. Montgomery. The setting is Prince Edward Island, Canada, in the little town of Avonlea. The island is said to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. Immediately, the reader can imagine that this true. You'll travel through five years in pages full of suspense, joy, heartache, laughter and love. You'll learn about Anne's temper and vanity, as well as her good heart and kind soul.
If you enjoy Anne of Green Gables, look for the others in the eight-book series. You can see these wonderful books come to life in the movies, "Anne of Green Gables" and "Anne of Avonlea," starring Megan Follows.
Anne of Green Gables is a classic, very entertaining and irresistible. By the last page, you'll want to read it all over again.
