The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus by L. Frank Baum

My grandmother read this book to my sister and me, chapter by chapter when we stayed at my grandparents' home. We were mesmerized by this story of Santa as child, youth and young adult, raised by the nymphs and fairies. When he is given the cloak of immortality, the whole Santa Claus as old man finally made sense. I was fortunate to have the story read from the original red book, but give this as a Christmas gift to many of all ages.
